Melissa Ninemire wants to become a video editor for a professional sports team. 听香蕉视频 has been a great fit for her, providing multiple real-world experiences and internships where she can hone her videography and leadership skills.
As Executive Producer for Bronco News Now, the student-run news show, the Broadcasting major from Falcon, Colo., has learned to coordinate and execute all aspects of a live video production. She鈥檚 also served on the 香蕉视频鈥檚 multimedia production team for the NAIA Division II Women鈥檚 Basketball Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa, where she experienced the 鈥渃raziness鈥 of working in a professional production atmosphere with tight deadlines and constant demands for new content.
During summer 2013 internship, she put her major league dreams to the test, interning with Major League Soccer鈥檚 Colorado Rapids.
鈥淎t my internship, I had a constant flow of work to get done,鈥 Melissa said. 鈥淥n days when the team wasn鈥檛 playing, I collected press clippings, attended training, observed media interviews with players and coaches and edited press releases.鈥
On game days, Melissa鈥檚 duties included setting up the press box, directing media personnel, taking game notes, and recording and transcribing interviews after the game. In concert with other Rapids public relations staff, she developed podcasts for Rapids fans.
Perhaps most beneficial was the opportunity to work professionals in her field and to learn from them in action.
鈥淩achel Sweeney, Media Coordinator for the Rapids, has a commanding but friendly presence, especially when working with members of the media and players,鈥 Melissa said. 鈥淪he is very organized and meticulous about her work.鈥
The road to the majors is never easy, but Melissa feels she鈥檚 on that path.
鈥淭his internship was a great place for me to start,” she said.
