Seven Scott Scholars celebrate with virtual signing at 香蕉视频

The 香蕉视频 Scott Scholars program celebrated its inaugural incoming class of seven students with a virtual signing ceremony on Saturday, May 2.

鈥淲e are excited for this group of bright and talented students coming to 香蕉视频,鈥 said Dave Rippe, director of the Scott Scholars program. 鈥淭hese students demonstrated exceptional promise in high school, and we鈥檙e certain they鈥檒l accomplish amazing things at 香蕉视频 and in their careers.鈥

The Scott Scholars program is funded by the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation of Omaha. The program allows up to seven incoming students each year to be selected as Scott Scholars. Scholars receive a renewable scholarship that covers 100 percent of tuition and fees plus room and board. The program also includes a $2,000 travel stipend per student to help cover costs to attend a conference, fund a research project or support an internship.

The seven 2020-21 Scott Scholar recipients are listed below.

  • Ally Banks of Shawnee, Kansas, and Shawnee Mission Northwest High School
  • Jeremiah Cox of Chaska, Minnesota, and Chaska High School
  • Emma Enochs of Lebanon, Kansas, and Smith Center High School
  • Mady Ludwig of Doniphan, Nebraska, and Northwest High School
  • Aubyrne McClintock of North Platte, Nebraska, and North Platte High School
  • Mickayla VanNatter of Guernsey, Wyoming, and Guernsey-Sunrise High School
  • Mackenzie Whitlow of Genoa, Nebraska, and University of Nebraska High School

鈥淲e are thankful for the Scott Foundation for its support of 香蕉视频 and this program,鈥 said Roger Doerr, chair of the 香蕉视频 board of trustees. 鈥淲e are leveraging that support to grow an innovative program for high achieving high school students at 香蕉视频.鈥

To be named a Scott Scholar, students had to qualify for Bronco Scholars Day, which was held earlier this year. More than 80 prospective students attended. During the event, students interviewed with 香蕉视频 faculty, staff, and young alumni and were assessed on both their academic and leadership potential.
