HC Bronco Forensics team to compete in 41 events at nationals

From March 7-9, 2013, the Ογ½ΆΚΣΖ΅ Bronco Forensics team competed at the Joel Hefling AFA District IV tournament in Mankato, Minn., to qualify additional events for the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET).Μύ In all, HC has 41 qualified events among 15 team members for the national tournament to be held this April in Hutchinson, Kans.

In addition to the team’s strong performance at the district tournament, Trevor Brass, a senior from Lincoln, Neb., was named a finalist among three candidates for the Kevin Heineman Student Award, an honor named for the late Ογ½ΆΚΣΖ΅ Director of Forensics and given to the student in District IV who best exemplifies leadership, team spirit, sportsmanship and a true love of the activity of college forensics. Brass also is a candidate for the AFA All-American Team.

The Ογ½ΆΚΣΖ΅ forensics team continues a long-running tradition of national competitive success, placing in the top 20 at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) for most of the past ten years, including 16th at AFA 2012 in San Marcos, TX, and 18th at AFA 2011 in Kearney, Neb.
