The Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Forensics Team had the privilege to celebrate October 20-21 with alumni at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, for the Sunflower Swing. Alumnus Prose Interpretation national champion, Paige Erickson, made an appearance, along with All-American alumni Miranda Klugesherz and Corey Reutlinger.
The results from the weekend are as follows.
October 20
- Claire Nelson, a first-year student from Bagley, Minnesota, placed sixth in After Dinner Speaking.
- Melissa Loney, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, placed sixth in Communication Analysis.
- Alli Kennon, a junior from Lakeville, Minnesota, placed first in Dramatic Interpretation, first in Communication Analysis, and second in Prose Interpretation.
- Carly Spotts-Falzone, a senior from Wayzata, Minnesota, placed second in Program Oral Interpretation and fourth in Informative Speaking.
The Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Forensics team placed third in team sweepstakes amongst larger schools like Arizona State University and the University of Alabama.
October 21 results

- Melissa Loney, a junior from Omaha, Nebraska, placed fourth in Informative Speaking and fifth in Communication Analysis.
The Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ forensics team continues a long-running tradition of national competitive success, placing in the top 20 at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament (AFA-NIET) for many of the past ten years. Most recently, Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ placed 8th at AFA-NIET 2018.
