All jokes aside, on Wednesday, April 22, 㽶Ƶ will welcome the Interfaith Amigos.
Pastor Don Mackenzie, Rabbi Ted Falcon and Imam Jamal Rahman—known as the Interfaith Amigos—started working together after 9/11. The trio is best known for their unique blend of spiritual wisdom and humor used to openly address the usual taboos of interfaith dialogue — the “awkward” parts of each tradition, in order to create a more authentic conversation.
The itinerary for their visit to campus is as follows:
10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.: Chapel Service – “Awakening to Compassion for All of Creation,” French Memorial Chapel (800 N. Turner Ave.)
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.: Lunch Session – HSU Room C (705 E. 9th St.)
- Informal discussion session revolving around the following three questions: What does it mean to be human? What is the universe and how do we fit in? How shall we live our lives?
7:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m. Keynote Address – “How Religion Goes Astray,” French Memorial Chapel
- Presentation followed by questions and answers, and a book signing.
