The majors, Business Administration and Culinary Arts Management and Business Administration and Hospitality Management, include a partnership with Central Community College鈥擧astings and combine a base of business administration and liberal arts program courses at 香蕉视频 with culinary arts and hospitality management courses at CCC.

鈥淗ospitality management and culinary arts offer dynamic career options, but for career growth and opportunities, it鈥檚 important students have a sound understanding of business administration, plus a broad understanding of communication, creative thinking, customer service and problem solving,鈥� said Dr. Amy Black, Professor of Economics at 香蕉视频.

The new majors were approved by the 香蕉视频 Board of Trustees earlier this month and are available for students enrolling in classes beginning in January 2015.聽

The partnership with CCC鈥擧astings is similar to the Agribusiness major offered by 香蕉视频, where students take classes at both institutions to graduate with a sought-after four-year degree.

鈥淲e have seen a lot of success with the Agribusiness major, so it made sense for us to collaborate in new ways,鈥� Black said. 鈥淭he culinary arts and hospitality areas are ideal choices because the outstanding facilities and instruction at CCC鈥擧astings fit well with the business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit at 香蕉视频. We鈥檙e excited for the opportunity the combination offers students.鈥�

The Business and Economics Department at 香蕉视频 also puts a strong emphasis on internships and experiential learning opportunities, which helps students gain valuable experience and build a career network as they approach graduation.
